Thank you to everyone who made our inaugural Sportsman's Lunch a huge success!

We raised a total of $49,254! These proceeds will help us continue to bring laughter and optimisim into the lives of children and their families living with cancer.

A big thank you to all involved - Ben Odgers for working with CQ to create the event from the outset, Craig and the Pineapple Hotel for providing a great venue with fantastic food and all of the Pineapple Hotel's sponosrs who also supported.

A huge thank you too to our celebrities for attending on the day:

• QLD Reds and Wallabies captain, James Horwill
• Brisbane Lions celebrity player Jamie Charman
• Brisbane Broncos and Australian Kangaroos ex-Captain, Darren Lockyer

And of course, a big thanks to Lutsy who did a fantastic job keeping things on track and entertaining the crowd as our MC.

Thank you too to all the businesses and individuals who bought tables to the event and supported the raffles and auctions we had running throughout the day.

So what does nearly $50,000 raised mean?

What that means is....... in one day, 131 people helped to support 15 Camp Quality families for 12 months through our Fund-a-Family program - an amazing effort!

Our Fund a Family program supports a family's journey with Camp Quality for a year. This could include the following touch points, on inital diagnosis, during time in hospital, once they return home or go back to school. It is our objective to be involved with the child and their family throughout their cancer experience. Camp Quality looks to do this, as demonstrated above, in a number of ways. However, always in a forum which encourages laughter as the best medicine.
