ON most occasions it would be seen as daylight robbery to have
to pay for a glass of water at a restaurant.
But at Focus by James Restaurant in Springwood, customers are more
than happy to be paying for their water this month.
That's because the restaurant is raising money for Camp Quality by
asking customers to make a gold coin donation for the water they
receive during the meal, with the restaurant matching each donation
dollar for dollar.
Already more than $500 has been contributed by customers and
restaurant owner, James Macqueen, said he was putting out the call
to other Logan restaurants to consider doing "Liquid Laughter"
fundraising as well.
He said customers were going beyond the gold coin donation, with
one man paying $100 for his bottle of water.
Similarly, regular customers Peter Thompson and Terry Irwin said
"Liquid Laughter" was a very good idea, and they didn't mind adding
extra dollars to the bill.
