Students at Two Rocks Primary School, celebrated Australia's cultural diversity on Harmony Day on 21st March.

The aim of Harmony Day, is to openly demonstrate our welcoming of people from around the world who come to live and work in Australia.

It's about teaching our children the facts of our success as a multicultural nation. Ms Randall, led activities to promote our Indigenous culture using art as a starting point for discussion.

Various activities took place throughout the school including boomerang and didgeridoo decoration, dot painting to create a message and rope making.

Class teachers widened the cultural scope with age appropriate lessons during the week to develop students' sense of Everyone Belongs.

Camp Quality Puppets sponsored by McDonalds visited Two Rocks Primary School to entertain and charm students both as a reward for great efforts in Term 1 and as a teaching tool.

The puppeteers kept the students' attention whilst educating them about the need for sensitivity towards people with illnesses.

The story line took the form of a boy teasing another child about their looks.

Then about the journey that child takes in discovering the reason why some people appear different.

With the power of knowledge and the realisation that their peer is ill with leukaemia, the boy learns to accept and support his ill peer.

Two Rocks students appreciated the humour in the puppet show and came away with a better understanding of the message "It's uncool to be cruel!"
