If laughter is the best medicine, then a trip to Buddy's Fire Hotrod and Street Machine Motorama is the perfect way to get the chuckles started. Organiser Michael Hearn is getting the Motorama behind Camp Quality for another year to raise much-needed funds to bring optimism and happiness through fun therapy for children and families affected by cancer.

Camp Quality's area manager of the Central Queensland region Darryl Schneider said it was fantastic for a popular event like the Motorama to get behind their charity and provide financial support to those that needed it most.              "Buddy (promoter Michael Hearn) has always been a supporter of Camp Quality and has helped us in lots of different ways in the past. He's as much a part of the Camp Quality family as we are to this big motoring event," he said. "Buddy's Fire Hotrod and Street Machine Motorama will not only provide us with funds to help the families that need it most. but it will also help to lift our profile to the hundreds of families who don't know much about us that may need our help."I'm looking forward to the Motorama myself, it will be a fantastic show." Mr Schneider said he hoped to put some of the funds towards their trip to Disneyland for one of their bigger Camp Quality camps.

Last year, the event raised more than $21 ,000 for the charity, and Michael expects an even bigger response this year. Buddy's Fire Hotrod and Street Machine Motorama will be held at the Rockhampton Showgrounds from 9am on Saturday, June 19 to 6pm and again on Sunday, June 20 from 9am to 4pm. The day will include a variety of trade displays, motor displays (cars, trucks, motorcycles and boats), free rides for the kids, a pro dyno competition and special guest Pinky the car show announcer as well as the much-anticipated Meguiar's MotorEx Superstars Qualifier.

As the nominations continue to roll in. Rockhampton Harley Davidson is organising its wheels for the big event. Motorcycle enthusiast from Rockhampton Harley Davidson Glen Rohl said the business was putting on a trade display and a number of their vehicles on display over the weekend. Included in their bikes on display is a beautiful house-built rocker custom worth about $65,000.
"This motorcycle will be up for sale on special during the Motorama' he said. "We will also be showing a couple of Triumph vehicles too." Glen said he started his love for motorcycles back in 1969, and had been driving Harley Davidsons since 1983. "I currently drive a Limited edition Harley Davidson Electraglide Ultra Classic," he said. On looks alone, this motorcycle could easily be mistaken for a luxurious couch on wheels.

Motoring enthusiasts who would like to put their car, motorbike, truck or other vehicle on display can also contact Michael Hearn on (07) 4927 2740 or 0408 285 009.
