Camp Quality, the children's family cancer charity, and
its corporate partner AHL (Amalgamated Holdings Ltd) won a joint
award this week (5th Sept) for their Workplace Giving partnership
at the Inaugural Workplace Giving Awards.
The awards, from the Australian Charities Fund, celebrate the
leadership and initiatives of employers and community organisations
in promoting awareness of, and participation in, workplace
giving.
Winning the Collaboration Award - Joint Award Employer
Organisation/Community Organisation- is a fantastic achievement for
both organisations.
Camp Quality CEO Simon Rountree said:
'We were thrilled to win this award. Not only does it recognise
the work Camp Quality has put into growing the recognition of
workplace giving as an effortless but highly effective way of
supporting charities, but it recognises the generosity of AHL staff
who opted to make regular donations to Camp Quality from their
pre-tax salaries, and who took part in AHL fundraising events,
helping us to support children living with cancer and their
families.'
Melinda King, of AHL's charity committee,
said:
'If you're looking for a partnership to work on a national and
regional level and to provide some fun and laughter for your
workplace, AHL would highly recommend a partnership with Camp
Quality. It's been fantastic for our staff to have interaction
with the Camp Quality regional staff and volunteers and to have
seen first-hand the difference we can make to children living with
cancer and their families.'
The Awards were open to all Australian employers operating a
workplace giving program, and community organisations endorsed by
the Australian Tax Office as a deductible gift recipient (DGR).
This is the third award Camp Quality has received this year
after winning the PwC Transparency award for the quality and
transparency of its 2010 annual report, and a Silver Award in the
Australasian Reporting Awards.
