The Teenage Alchemist by Angela
Betzien shows how two characters, Xanthe and Joshua, deal with
their cancer diagnoses in completely different ways. It tells an
inspirational story that draws on themes such as self-image,
negativity, fear, hope and courage.
It shows how teenagers can make positive life choices, even with
cancer in the picture. The performance is followed by "Question
Time", a safe environment where the teenage audience can talk about
cancer in an open and straightforward way.
That's what we're about at Camp Quality: no taboos. We talk
about stuff openly and genuinely. The play takes the "mystery" out
of cancer.
