Athlete - Beach Volleyball
1. What drew you to Camp Quality, and what do you love
most about it?
My cousin Ben was diagnosed with Leukaemia when he was 9 years old.
He fought it and won and is now a Doctor. Camp Quality gave him a
better quality of life not only when times were tough, but even
today as he and his family members continue their involvement as
companions to other kids. What an amazing organisation that truly
does prove LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE. Everyone involved
benefits greatly. It is my pleasure to be of service in any way I
can. I love seeing the smiles on the kids faces.
2. What have you learnt most about yourself from your
involvement?
I have learnt that life is too short and time spent with family and
friends is the most important part of life. I have learnt to smile
and laugh even when things aren't going to plan because frowning
and being mopey doesn't make you feel better.
3. What signature strengths do you bring to
CQ?
Beach Volleyball is a neutral sport, so I can play with all ages,
girls or boys, and all skill levels. I ensure that when they leave
the court they all have had fun and all hit the ball over the net
so they feel good about themselves. Noone leaves my court without a
smile
4. What's a CQ moment you treasure?
Attending mother and daughter camp each year. And playing
volleyball with the kids.
5. What do you love to laugh about?
Funniest home videos and funny movies
6. What are you optimistic about?
That everyone has a chance to achieve their dreams. Hope is a
powerful thing. Always believe in the power of the dream.
7. What would you say to someone considering joining the
'CQ family'?
There is nothing to consider… Join the CQ family now. Laughter is
the best medicine and you will have the time of your life.
