Channel Seven reporter

Where do you work and what do you do?
I report the weather weekdays for the Seven Network 6pm News. I also report on weather and climate related issues.

What drew you to be involved with Camp Quality?
I first became involved with Camp Quality when I worked on Saturday Disney. I was drawn to their wonderful emphasis on the power of laughter and fun. When my Mum went through Breast Cancer a few years ago, the element of fun played such an important role in her treatment.

What does Camp Quality's optimism and fun therapy mean to you?
When you think about cancer research and treatment, you often think of the tangible elements like hospitals and equipment. Camp Quality focuses on the emotional aspects, which is just as important. Fun therapy means time-out and that helps children get on with enjoying the things that make them happy.

Why do you think 'laughter is the best medicine'?
When my mum started to lose her hair, we decided to turn the experience into something fun. In fact we made a day of it! We went shopping for some beautiful scarves in the morning and then enjoyed a glass of champagne as we turned up the music and I shaved mum's locks! It was an emotional experience but we laughed a lot too and that made a huge difference.

What makes you really laugh and happy?
I am quite a silly person and sometimes the simplest things can make me laugh. Quite often it's just silly banter between close friends or family. I guess it comes from having an understanding of what makes someone tick.
