Dealing with cancer is tough. Even tougher when you are
a teenager. Dealing with teenagers is tough, especially if you are
a teenager. Teaching teenagers is tough.
As one of Australia's top five most trusted charities, we have
21 years' experience educating children with the McDonald's Camp
Quality Puppets. We are now proud to present The Teenage
Alchemist.
Written specifically for teenagers, The Teenage
Alchemist explores the personal conflicts and inner-crises
that emerge as a result of a cancer diagnosis, as Xanthe and Joshua
deal with living with cancer in very different ways.
The themes are broad reaching; including self-image, negativity,
fear, hope and, most importantly, courage. The play provides an
opportunity to encourage teenagers to put things into perspective
and make positive life choices.
The play is 50 minutes in duration and is free to high
schools.
Developed in partnership with Australian Theatre For Young
People.
This performance is authorised within the performances for
