Hi, I'm Dean and I'm really cool. I love soccer and surfing and
hanging out with my mates. When I grow up I'm gonna play soccer for
my job cause I'm really good at it. I'm a striker. That's the
one that scores all the goals.
I've got this cool friend at my school called Kylie. She's no
good at soccer but she's still my friend. You know she's been
really sick. She's even been in the hospital. She's got this thing
called leukaemia. Big word, hey? And she has to take a really
special medicine. It's really weird but the medicine she has to
take made all her hair fall out. Yeah, she's bald. I was
totally freaked out when I first saw her, 'cause, man, she looks so
different.
I suppose I wasn't really that nice to Kylie when I first saw
her when she came back to school. Well, actually, I was a bit mean.
I was a bit of a bully but that was 'cause I didn't really
understand. But Kylie explained to me what was going on and
stuff, and now I understand. I learnt how to say sorry and now I'm
like her best friend. You know, if you ever upset someone, well,
you should say sorry! Kylie taught me that.
Anyway, I gotta go 'cause I've got soccer training. Maybe I'll
see you at your school one day!
