Hi, I'm Melissa and I'm Kylie's best friend. You know Kylie is
one of the bravest girls I know. She has been really sick and had
to have this really strong medicine which made her look a bit
different. Some of the kids at school didn't understand and were a
bit mean to her, but I made sure they said sorry.
It makes me upset when I hear people being mean. I think we
should all look out for each other, and make sure no one is sad,
even if they are different. My mum taught me that. She said that it
doesn't matter what you look like on the outside, it's what's on
the inside that counts. I think that's true.
I ask Kylie lots of questions about cancer. She told me that you
can't catch cancer from another person and that not many kids get
cancer. She also said that if someone in your family has cancer, it
doesn't mean you will get cancer. She's so smart. I'm organising a
surprise party for Kylie to help celebrate her end of treatment.
Dean and Matt are coming. I can't wait.
