2. The question a child has asked that sticks in
your mind?
"If we have a brother or sister with cancer, is there any way we
can take it off them so they aren't sad anymore?" Closely followed
by: "Will a band-aid stop the cancer from hurting so much?"
3. What you love about the
characters?
The cheeky and mischievous nature of Dean, the confidence and
playfulness of Matt, the strength and bravery of Kylie and the
empathetic and supportive nature of Mel.
4. What's a CQ moment you treasure?
Having the privilege of knowing a little girl named Kahlila and
her family will always stick in my mind. Never have I met such a
beautiful, brave and positive five year old. We visited her
on two different occasions at her school, as well as in the
hospital, and at all times her family would be in CQ t-shirts and
couldn't speak more highly of what we did as an organisation to
help their family through a very difficult period.
5. What do you love to laugh about?
Children! Their innocence, questions and the way they
view the world. Also, movies, conversations with friends and
family, myself.
6. What do you love about the volunteers that
perform with you?
Their passion and love for the puppet program; their generosity
and happy natures, as well as the way they all put a unique spin on
our shows. It certainly keeps me on my toes!
7. If you were not a CQ Puppeteer what would you
be?
Working in the arts, especially the theatre, with a focus on
youth and community projects.
