Giggle's value

Giggle is easy for children to identify and interact with through jokes, songs and games. Many children will talk and respond to Giggle in ways that they don't usually behave whilst in a hospital environment. Giggle provides fun therapy for children, parents and hospital staff. He is cheeky, excitable and irrepressible, and leaves a trail of laughter. And as everyone here knows, 'laughter is the best medicine'!

Just ask James!

James was undergoing chemotherapy and was so traumatised by the experience that he hadn't spoken to the hospital staff for four months. Naturally his parents were distressed at the state of his trauma and felt helpless in trying to ease the situation.

Giggle entered the room and finally James had the diversion therapy that he needed. Within half an hour of curiously watching Giggle, James was interacting with Giggle and talking again! He had forgotten about the treatment he was undergoing and was not only talking to Giggle, but laughing too!
