Your world away from cancer!
Cancer? Oh yeah, that's right. Everyone on camp is living
with it. Would you know it? The answer is in the
photos.
What happens at camp?
Get ready for a big adventure. Depending on the camp you go to,
you'll be able to choose from activities like wire hang gliding,
jet boat rides and snorkelling. There is also some pretty cool
quiet stuff for the quiet guys. At night it's party, disco,
music. It's much more adult than the other camps.
Where might you go?
Who knows? You could end up travelling to places like the Great
Barrier Reef, Sydney, Tasmania, New Zealand or Norfolk
Island. Most of the action on camp starts mid-morning; you get
to sleep-in because you had so much fun the night before.
How long do senior camps go for?
Usually, five days.
What are the sleeping arrangements?
Motel or cabin style accommodation, usually with one companion
and three campers per room.
How much does it cost?
There is no cost to families. Thanks to our generous sponsors
and loyal donors these camps are fully funded by Camp Quality.
Who can attend?
Children over 16 and under 18 years. These camps create great
friendships and everyone has lots of fun with plenty of time to
party.
The camps are run by volunteer leaders with a ratio of three
campers to one adult companion with a nurse attending as well.
These camps are run in-line with surveys we've done where kids have
told us what they want.
How do we sign up to attend?
You need to be registered as a Camp Quality family. If you are
under 18 years and living with cancer and your family is not
registered with CQ you can register online now.
