A Letter from Team Ambo

I have had the privilege of working for the Ambulance Service of
NSW (ASNSW) for just over 25 years as an Advanced Life Support
Paramedic and the last three years of this as a District Manager.
Wayne has nearly 31 years service as an Intensive Care Paramedic
and the last year again as a District Manager. During this time we
have been given the opportunity to lend our skills and knowledge to
a number of large events as volunteers.
I personally have been associated with Camp Quality since 2005
starting my experience with Marty and Erica's Camp Quality Convoy
for Kids, which to date has raised $950,819.14 for the Illawarra
area, and still going.
Through our involvement with this event we were asked to join
esCarpade as the medical response team.
The Camp Quality outback motoring adventure is the culmination of
a year-long fundraising effort by over 180 event entrants who raise
money to support kids living with cancer and their families.
The event also doubles as a Camp Quality "road show" by outlining
what the charity does and how it helps those families throughout
regional Australia.
Last year we carried out the role of medical sweep which required
the support of the Ambulance Service of NSW (ASNSW). After
gaining approval, the ASNSW donated the use of a fully equipped 4WD
vehicle and Wayne and I donated our time (nine days) toward the
event and will do so again this year. Camp Quality covered all
other expenses
Our main role will remain the same, to support the entrants who
have raised valuable funds for such a worthy cause and of course
it's not all work, we do have a bit of fun along the way.
We are more than happy to lend our expertise to esCarpade and Camp
Quality again in 2010, making the event as safe as possible for all
entrants. After all we're chasing the same goal, to raise as much
money as possible for Camp Quality. I would ask all businesses to
make a donation
or sponsor us on esCarpade 2010, rather than ask Camp Quality
to cover our entry fees, accommodation and food.
