“It’s all about the kids” – Spotlight on Graham ‘Pops’ Dearlove
With National Volunteer Week behind us (20th – 26th May), we are thrilled to celebrate Graham 'Pops' Dearlove from Western Australia as our National Dick Gillard Volunteer of the Year.
For the past 15 years, Graham has been a beloved member of the Camp Quality family and after countless camps is a bona-fide corner stone of the team, providing mentorship to new volunteers, Camp Leaders and of course the families.
He is the type of volunteer who is 100% in it for the families and to ensure they create unforgettable memories whilst on Camp Quality programs. Graham’s endless dedication, formidable hard work and inspiring energy has lovingly earned him the nicknamed him ‘Pops’.
Camp Quality CEO Kylea Tink spoke to Graham on the phone while the Western Australian team cheered in the background. “It’s all for the kids, Kylea” he said, with a hint of excitement glistening in his voice.
"Camp Quality is one big family and it’s great being part of it. It’s all about the children and it’s keeps me young and all the friendships we have. The award is very much appreciated. Thanks to all my friends at Camp Quality. Thank you all "
Congratulations Graham and thank you for helping give kids facing cancer the chance to be kids again.
