What is Camp Quality doing about COVID -19?

At Camp Quality the health and safety of our kids, families, employees, volunteers and supporters is paramount to everything we do.

During these uncertain times, Camp Quality is continually monitoring the information and protocols from appropriate regulatory bodies to help manage COVID-19 in the workplace and community. All our decisions about service delivery, employee management and workplace procedures strictly adhere to the guidelines set out by the Australian Government Department of Health and health departments in each state.

To ensure the best health and safety outcomes for the entire Camp Quality family, we have made the decision to postpone our face to face services and programs including; Camps, Fun Days, Family Experiences, the Primary School Education Program and hospital visits by the Camp Quality Puppets.

We have also postponed to later in the year, two of our major fundraising events, MotorCyc 2020 from Newcastle and Off the Menu in Melbourne.

Camp Quality is committed to reinstating our calendar of face to face services, programs and events when appropriate, to ensure that our kids and families don’t miss out on a break from cancer. The reality is that this crisis does not stop the need for our support.

The situation, our commitments and scheduled events, will be reviewed regularly, with updates for the months ahead provided as they come to hand, with a summary announcement at the end of April 2020. Services will only resume in accordance with the ongoing advice from the Australian Government Department of Health.

While we are unable to deliver some services and programs, Camp Quality’s Kids Guide to Cancer app will continue providing age-appropriate cancer information for kids, and our New Normal Navigator app will provide families returning home from hospital, with information and resources.

Our dedicated team are also busy looking at new ways to create and deliver engaging and fun content online, including via social media, to help reduce the stress and anxiety of cancer, and help kids to be kids again.

At Camp Quality, we stand with the rest of the community in staying informed, taking action based on government guidelines, working to minimise the spread of COVID -19 and most importantly, to protect the safety of those most vulnerable to this infection, some of whom are our precious kids and their families.

Camp Quality encourages everyone to use reliable sources of information such as the Australian Government Department of Health to ensure they are up to date with the most recent information and recommendations.

Thank you to everyone for your understanding and support of Camp Quality as we navigate this challenging and evolving situation together. We especially acknowledge and thank our wonderful staff, volunteers, corporate and individual supporters and donors, who continue to stick with us and support us so generously.
