Camp Quality recognised at Northern Inland Innovation Awards
The Northern Inland Innovations Awards recognises and encourages businesses, individuals and organisations in the Northern Inland region of NSW, responsible for developing some of this nation's leading innovative products and approaches across a broad range of industry sectors.
Camp Quality was recognised for its Offspring Program within the Health, Aged Care & Disability Services category, being awarded category winner!
Camp Quality recognised there was a very real need within the community to provide support for children with a parent diagnosed with cancer. In a review conducted by Dr Claire Wakefield from Sydney’s Children’s Hospital and University of NSW, it was found that these children urgently required age-appropriate information, a safe place to share and ‘normalise’ their feelings with other children going through the same journey, and support communicating with family members.
Camp Quality’s Offspring Program enables children to spend time with their peers, giving them time to be kids. The development of the Offspring Program has allowed us to support even more families growing up with cancer when they need it most.
"It is wonderful to receive this recognition for the work that has gone in to the creation of the Offspring Program at Camp Quality. The opportunity to showcase the work we do within a regional location is fantastic." - Melissa Bell, Fundraising Coordinator, NNSW
