‘Amazing Race’ Camp for Kids Facing Cancer in Tasmania

In the January School holidays, 31 kids facing cancer enjoyed an awesome ‘Amazing Race’ themed Camp at Port Sorell. Kids and volunteers enjoyed a huge range of team activities including creating team mascots, ‘Amazing Race’ challenges, beach games and a very impressive talent show.

The camp was specifically designed for kids aged 7-13 facing their own cancer diagnosis or the diagnosis of someone they love. It was a chance for the kids to laugh, make friends and create positive memories that change the cancer story. The awesome Camp was made possible by the Motors Foundation and their staff – who have been supporting Camp Quality in Tasmania for a massive 16 years.

Kendra Overall, State Manager for Camp Quality TAS, VIC and SA says,

“Not only has Terry Bienefelt & the Motors Foundation supported Camp Quality for such a long time, but over the years, staff from Motors across Tasmania have shown up and helped out by volunteering. In 16 years, they have truly shown their big hearts and passion for helping others.

Camp Quality relies heavily on the generosity of everyday Australians and our corporate partners, and it is people like those at the Motors Foundation who allow us to provide our Camps free of charge to families in need.”

Special thanks to the dedicated team of volunteers who freely gave their time, expertise and compassion on the four days of Camp.

There are lots of ways you can help kids facing cancer go on Camps like this one. Want to help?
