WA Kids Facing Cancer - First Back To Camp!
WA’s Wild Wild West Combo Camp was a huge success! Held on the 3rd October, this was the first Camp Quality’s Kids’ Camp since COVID-19 restrictions were implemented in Australia.
We were overjoyed to have 92 happy campers join us for bucketloads of fun.
The stunning weather meant outdoor activities were enjoyed by all. We had a green screen Wild Wild West Film making workshop, science stunt workshop, costume making, an outdoor cinema, archery, flying fox, line dancing, yoga and, of course, the much-loved Bucking Bull at our disco!
Everyone got onboard with our new Covid-19 Safety Plan and it was so great to be back and see so many smiling happy faces!
Even 7 News Perth came down for the fun!
Camp Quality gives kids facing their own cancer diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one the chance to be kids again. Having a break from the daily ups and downs of cancer of the cancer experience changes the cancer story for kids impacted by cancer.
Kids’ Camps give children 4 -13 years old facing cancer the chance to just be kids again. Kids experience time away from their parents, filled with friends who understand, new adventures and fun and optimism, to help build resilience, and life skills. Medical volunteers ensure children’s health needs are met. Each child has a dedicated volunteer Camp Companion to ensure they are supported to have the best time.
