Junior Campers dream big in Canberra
Camp Quality’s three day ‘When I Grow Up’ themed Camp was a magical journey for all attendees. 29 Junior Campers (aged 7-9) enjoyed an amazing weekend of activities with their peers.
Held at Greenhills in Canberra, this year’s event was full of fun, laughter, and overcoming fears! The kids and volunteers enjoyed a range of activities including colour run, group art project, talent show, vertical cluster, abseiling, yoga, a disco and much more! With the help of Bunnings, we gave the kids the task of building a bird house, as well having a bit of fun with some temporary tattoos.
One of the many highlights of the camp was Paper Pilots. Both our Campers and our Volunteers learnt how to make the ulimate paper plane, a skill everyone can now take with them to challenge their friends and families, too.
As always, the event would not have been a success without the 40 plus volunteers who donated their time, so thank you all! Special thanks to Greenhills as well, who are always so welcoming, and join in on the fun with us.
About Camp Quality Camps
Our camps provide an essential break away from the stresses of a cancer diagnosis for both kids and their families. Kids experience time away from home that is centred on pure fun and optimism. Families get a break from the day to day stresses of treatment, which also allows for parents to reconnect and bond with siblings who often feel a little neglected. We also provide the opportunity for kids and families to form life-long friendships and support networks. We connect people who are going through similar situations and who are at varying stages of their cancer journey. Our camps range from kids only Mini Camp to Junior Camp and Middle Camp. We also run Family Camps that cater to the entire family.
