Games galore in Newcastle thanks to generous grant
For the families of the Newcastle region Christmas came early with the delivery of giant games thanks to the generosity of a Port of Newcastle Community Partnerships Program Grant.
The toys were specifically selected for their age appropriateness, suitability to encourage team work as well as creativity and imaginative play. Some old favourites make up the list of games including a 3 x 3 meter checkers board, giant snakes and ladders and mega dominos. The egg and spoon race will never be the same now with giant dinosaur eggs that can be balanced on a spoon or on your head.
The games are planned to be used at upcoming Kids' Camps and Family Camps with a special selection being sent to the Salamander Bay Respite House for use by families during their stay.
“These toys will go a long way to helping children play and learn together and build new friendships. They will be a great resource for many years to come.” said Michelle Youngberry Regional Manager for Newcastle and Northern NSW.
We know these toys will help to create lots of laughter and smiles for hundreds of local children and we thank the Port of Newcastle for their support of the kids and families of Camp Quality.
