Camp Quality hits the ice and wins
A number of Camp Quality families in South QLD were lucky enough to attended the Brisbane Ice Hockey Classic, on Saturday 2 July 2016, thanks to generously donated tickets.
The families went back stage and met the players, with many of the families not having seen an ice hockey game ever before. The players took the time to hang out with the kids and parents, dishing out high-fives and laughes, as well as explaining the game. The kids were hanging on to every word!
While meeting the players the organiser, Kerry Goulet, announced that the game was a part of the Brisbane Cup, and each team was playing for a certain charity. We were bowled over to hear that Team USA had chosen Camp Quality as their charity! Kerry also said that he would personally donate $100 for each goal scored by the team.
Camp Quality families cheered hard during the game, and this saw Team USA score a total of 9 goals, leading to their victory!
The whole team presented the cheque of $3,000 to Recreation Program Coordinator, Emma Wilkes. It was a wonderful surprise and an amazing night.
To all of Team USA and Kerry Goulet, thank you so much for your generosity. Our kids and families had an absolute blast!
