Sisters raise $5,600 (and counting!) for Camp Quality
In recognition of Camp Quality’s support for their sister Isla, Shannon Scarr, 19, Hannah, 21 and Jordan Batchelor-Scarr, 22 have raised $5 600 (and counting!) for Camp Quality.
Isla, five, lives in Sydney and has been undergoing treatment for leukaemia.
“Camp Quality has done so much for Isla, we wanted to give back”, said Hannah.
Shannon, Hannah and Jordan have been fundraising for several months leading up to their participation in Adelaide’s City-Bay Fun Run on Sunday 20th September.
A family fun day held in the South Australian mining community of Roxby Downs on Saturday 12th September raised a total of $2,147.
"It was a massive success", Hannah said.
"I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone that turned up and to the Roxby Downs community. It was just overwhelming."
Family members from Roxby Downs and Sydney flew to Adelaide to take part in the 12km City-Bay Fun Run, receiving permission from Isla’s doctor beforehand to make sure she could participate in the day.
Both events helped the sisters exceed their overall goal of $5000, raising a total amount of $5,605 - making ‘Team Isla’ the third highest fundraiser in the 2015 City-Bay Fun Run! If you wish to support ‘Team Isla’, then please visit their fundraising page and make a donation.
