Camp Quality Bowled Over by Hobart Hurricanes Partnership
Camp Quality partnered up with Hobart Hurricanes (a KFC T20 Big Bash League team) as Match Day Charity Partner for their first home game of the season! Held on Tuesday the 22nd of December, their game was played at Blundstone Arena against the Brisbane Heat to a chorus of energised fans.
The partnership provided many families with the experience of seeing a Big Bash game live, whilst Camp Quality interacted with fans at the match.
Camp Quality had access behind the scenes during the Hurricanes’ pre-season filming session. Our kids went in and spent the morning hanging out with international superstars Darren Sammy and Kumar Sangakkara, and administered the team with a dose of laughter as they shared jokes with their local heroes Ben Dunk, Cameron Boyce, and Hurricanes captain Tim Paine!
The morning ended with the entire Hurricanes squad getting pumped up with the Camp Quality tradition of Fun Therapy before bursting into their game at Blundstone Arena.
The Hobart Hurricanes playing squad also joined Camp Quality for the Get Stumped Trivia Night to help raise much needed funds for Camp Quality Tasmania’s programs. It was an amazing night with raffles, auctions, and the all-important trivia! The Margie’s Archers team, who included the Hurricanes’ Dan Christian and Timm van der Gugten, took out the top spot!
Hurricanes player and Australian representative Ben Dunk had such a great time with Camp Quality that he nominated us as his charity of choice for his personal sponsor, Co-Op Toyota! Every time he hits a 6 (which will be a lot) $500 will be donated to Camp Quality Tasmania! We’re all cheering Ben on and hope he keeps clearing that boundary!
