ACT & Regional NSW Albury Family Camp

On the 4th-6th March, a group of families from the ACT, Regional NSW and Northern VIC were joined by a group of energetic and excited volunteers at the Albury Family Camp. As weekend away and an opportunity to spend some quality family time together.

"Family camps are like Christmas for our family...there is a lot of excitement and anticipation leading up to it, then the weekend is awesome as we just live in the moment (like we have permission not to worry about "real" life). Then we get home there is a bit of a low with emotions as we get back to reality. Our son gets quite upset. The kids are then counting down to the next camp straight away."

Upon arrival on the Friday night at the Lake Hume Resort our families were greeted by some dance classes including, Irish, Belly Dancing and Rock and Roll. It was a perfect night for all our families to meet one another in a fun environment.

On Saturday, the families enjoyed time together on the grounds at Lake Hume Resort and participated in the onsite activities including: mini golf, tennis, swimming, basketball, fishing and canoeing. An amazing BBQ lunch was provided by local Lions and Rotary Club who also fundraise throughout the year in the region.

Saturday afternoon was an opportunity for the parents to have some free time and enjoy a kid free dinner. The kids were whisked away with our volunteers to enjoy some rock climbing, games at intensity and a movie and dinner.

Sunday was a jam packed day with a visit to the local Totally Fun Park with waterslides, mini golf, train rides, pony rides, giant sandpit and a jumping castle there was something for kids of all ages.

We would like to thank the local businesses that contributed to the weekend of fun for our families.
