Deborah Thomas is Ready to Make a Difference

Camp Quality is very proud and excited to announce Deborah Thomas as our new CEO.

Deborah Thomas is an experienced executive and board director, in both the corporate and not for profit sectors. With 27 years of expertise in media,  business and not-for-profit sectors, Deborah knows how to get things done! She is a powerhouse of experience and is determined to help Camp Quality give even more kids the chance to be kids again.

Deborah says “As the new CEO, I look forward to working with Camp Quality’s dedicated staff, volunteers, ambassadors and Board to make sure we fulfil our promise to bring joy and laughter to kids facing cancer. It is this that inspires me, as it will every day I go to work.”

Deborah brings both a huge skillset and a huge heart to the role. As well as managing some of Australia’s most popular magazine brands, including The Australian Women’s Weekly, where she was Editor-in-Chief for nine years, Deborah has also been hard at work for causes she believes in.

She has been involved in the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation, where she conceived and helped to establish a major fundraising initiative, Gold Week, the Royal Hospital for Women Foundation, Father Chris Riley’s Youth off the Streets and is a founding patron of the Taronga Conservation Foundation.

On joining Camp Quality, Deborah says “I am honoured and excited by the prospect of working with Camp Quality and applying my skills and experience to such a worthy, trusted and important organisation. Camp Quality changes people’s lives for the better and I cannot think of a more fulfilling job than helping children and families deal with the trauma that comes with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.”

All the Camp Quality staff are very excited to have her on board and wish her all the very best!
