Northern NSW – Damian Charleson

Damian has received the Northern NSW Gillard award for his decade of service with Camp Quality.

Damian has been the driving force behind several major fundraising events in the Hunter region, most notably founding Motocyc. Now in its sixth year, Motocyc continues to raise morale, community involvement and crucial funds in the area. Damian is compassionate and gracious, and the happy memories he has created in the local community will be echoed for years to come.

Queensland – Edward Orszulak

Edward has received the Queensland Gillard award for his 9 years of service with Camp Quality.

Ed is always willing and ready to help Camp Quality and has volunteered in many different areas of the organisation, including recreation programs like Kids’ Camps, Virtual Camps, and fundraising events such as Corporate Golf Days, raffle ticket selling at the NRL and Bunnings BBQ fundraisers. He can always be counted on to  spread the fun, laughter and positivity.

Edward Orszulak

South NSW – Irene Murray

Irene has received the South NSW Gillard award for her 14 years of service with Camp Quality.

Irene has positively taken on many Camp Quality volunteer roles, including companion, leadership, public speaking & fundraising roles. Her professionalism, her compassion, her sense of joy and her way of making everyone feel included reflects true Camp Quality values.

Victoria – Ray Murray

Ray Murray has received the Victoria Gillard award for his 7 years of service with Camp Quality.

Ray is a long time esCarpade participant, one of Camp Quality’s biggest fundraising events. His dedication to raising money for esCarpade makes him an incredibly valuable participant.  It is not uncommon for Ray to drive 2 hours out of his way to pick up the needed equipment for a fundraiser or collect supplies for a BBQ, as well as planning team trips all out of his own pocket to ensure that every cent goes ‘to the kids’.

South Australia – Becky Little

Becky has received the South Australia Gillard award for her 4 years of service with Camp Quality.

Becky is committed to giving Camp Quality kids the best possible experience on Kids’ Camps. Becky is also a dedicated fundraiser and along with 2 other volunteers ran a Quiz Night last year that raised $11,000 for Camp Quality.  Becky is a huge help when organising the camps and will step up whenever there is an issue to be resolved.

Northern Territory - Richard Schmidt

Richard has received the Northern Territory Gillard award for his 5 years of service.

Richard is a valuable support person making Camp Quality events for kids and families possible in the NT. He is the go-to person whenever we need someone to drive the Camp Quality vehicles, and he always does an amazing job, returning the vehicles on time, in good condition and full of petrol.

Richard Schmidt - NT Gillard Nomination

Sydney – Susan Yeung

Susan has received the Sydney Gillard award for her 11 years of service with Camp Quality.

On camps she is affectionately known as ‘Doc Susan’ and she been an integral part of the Camp Quality Medical Volunteer Team for 11 years. Without medical volunteers, Camp Quality programs would not be possible, as many children attending have medical conditions related to cancer treatment and require special care and medication. Dr Susan has been the role model and mentor for many new medical volunteers over the years.

Darren Kenny – Western Australia

Darren Kenny is the Gillard State Award Winner for Western Australia!

Darren is a reliable and solution-focused volunteer. He has been a valuable member of Camp Quality’s wesCarpade for many years and always ensures suppliers and volunteers are recognised for their contributions and efforts. Darren regularly checks in with other participants and their fundraising efforts to keep motivation high and encourage their involvement in Camp Quality as much as possible.

Darren Kenny - WA Gillard Nomination

Wade Purton – Tasmania

For the past nineteen years, Wade has dedicated an enormous amount of time being a Camp Quality volunteer and has undertaken many roles including attending interstate camps. He is always enthusiastic and positive and is a truly valued member of the CQ family and provides the best possible experience for the CQ kids and their families.
