Available Positions

Communications Intern

Details:

Communications / Advertising / Events student or graduate

We are seeking a dynamic current student or recent graduate, with an interest in working in the Communications Team of a not-for-profit, transforming the lives of kids impacted by cancer.

As the Communications Intern, you will be considered a valuable member of the Media & Communications team and all activities you work on will be of beneficial experience for you as well as for us.

You will gain experience in a range of activities including:

  • creative brainstorming and implementation of social media content across a variety of platforms
  • supporting the scheduling and monitoring of paid advertising campaigns
  • assisting the Media & Communications Coordinator to plan content for ad-hoc organic and paid campaigns;
  • developing testimonials, case study stories and images; and
  • supporting with media outreach and website content creation.

An interest in creating engaging content that inspires people to get involved, excellent written skills and attention to detail is a must; but most important is an enthusiasm to make a difference and a willingness to learn.

This internship will be available from February – April 2019 and is unpaid.

Primary School Program Coordinator/Performer (WA)

  • Full time Coordinator/Performer role based in PERTH

We do this by providing innovative programs and services to develop life skills and strengthen the wellbeing of children aged 0 – 13 growing up with cancer, and their families. We support families no matter where they live in Australia, throughout each stage of their cancer journey.

About the Role
This is an amazing opportunity for a talented coordinator and performer to join us as the Primary School Program Coordinator, performing and coordinating our Theatre in Education Program to schools and in hospitals.

The Primary School Program is an educational Puppet show performed live to school audiences across the country. Our puppets also bring fun therapy to children’s hospital bedsides throughout their cancer treatment.

You will also coordinate, direct and perform with a team of casual puppeteers to deliver the program. This includes organising rosters, providing training and providing ongoing feedback post performances.

About You

To be successful in this position, it is preferable that you have:

  • Current and strong performance experience essential;
  • Previous Puppetry experience;
  • Program coordination, administration and/or database experience;
  • Experience working with children;
  • Experience within a school/educational environment;
  • Previous Not for Profit experience and training in the area of cancer education will be highly regarded but not essential. 

Please note that there will be overnight travel required due to regional tours.
