Our recent Christmas Appeal shared the heartbreaking story of Ena and Elsie, two sisters diagnosed with the exact same type of rare cancer, who were supported through their treatment by a Child Life Therapist named Ronnie.
The exciting news is that our appeal has almost reached its goal of $150,000 to fund another Child Life Therapist to help even more children like Ena and Elsie through scary cancer treatments.
“It’s a fantastic result for all Aussie families knowing there will be more Child Life Therapists out there, working their magic and helping our kids through treatment,” says Ena and Elsie’s mum, Claire.
“Ena and Elsie are doing fabulously, touch wood. Ena is about to go into Year 2. At the end of last year, she won a school prize and we were beyond proud. Elsie is her typical ray of sunshine self, her moniker at daycare is ‘Mumma Bear’ as she is so caring with the little ones in her room.”
“I won’t lie, their experiences have changed them and us, but 99 per cent of the time they are just two little girls constantly learning about this amazing world we live in. We will continue their scans six weekly for a few years to come until they are in remission.”
“We are extremely grateful to Camp Quality’s wonderful supporters.”
