Camp in a Box!

All the materials needed were delivered prior to the camp to each child’s home by DHL, in an exciting ‘Camp-in-a-box’ packed with items donated by ALDI. The hardest part was waiting until Virtual Camp to unwrap them!

The First Virtual Camp!

The inaugural Virtual Camp was presented by Emma Alberici, former ABC journalist and proud Camp Quality ambassador. Emma says,

“I attended Camp Quality camps as a volunteer 20 years ago and am still close to Jake and Tom the two Camp Quality kids I was companion to, and their mum and dad. I was honoured to host the first Virtual Camp as I’ve seen first-hand the support that Camp Quality gives kids and their families during the toughest time of their lives and love this digital evolution to expand that valuable support.”

Emma, joined volunteer Camp Leader, Jo Booth and the Camp Quality puppets to connect with kids online as they enjoyed drawing their own totems, exploding volcanos, trying out trivia and much more.

Monck Family on the News!

9-year-old Lilly and 12-year-old Ethan Monk had an amazing time on Virtual Camp after a really tough year. Both when Ethan was diagnosed with kidney cancer nine years ago and when he had spinal surgery last year, Ethan and his Mum spent months in hospital in Melbourne, over 200KMs from their home in Sale and from Lilly. Virtual Camp is an exciting opportunity to forget the stress of cancer and COVID-19 and instead focus on fun, optimism and resilience! Seven News Gippsland caught up with the Monck family to chat about what Virtual Camp means to them. Watch the clip HERE!

Due to COVID-19, kids like Ethan and Lilly have been waiting all year to go on a Camp Quality camp. Virtual Camp brought the fun, positivity and connection of camp right to their houses.

Camp Quality kid Imogen has been longing to go back to camp after her first Kids’ Camp last year. She rated Camp Quality’s Virtual Camp 20 out of 10!
