Did you know Camp Quality supports Kids Impacted by a Carer’s Cancer too? Camp Quality knows a break from cancer is vital for children facing a caregiver’s diagnosis and is committed to bringing positivity, fun and laughter back into their lives!
Our Kids Impacted by a Carer’s Cancer (KICC) programs include Kids’ Camps, Family Camps and Family Fun Days for children aged 0-15 and their families.
Here are some of the incredible KICC events that happened this July!
This KICC Camp, was buckets of fun with activities including archery, dodgeball, movie night and a disco night where kids and volunteers dressed up in costumes, did face-painting, and sang their hearts out during karaoke!
When everyone awoke to a spectacularly sunny morning on the final day it was time for a colour run! Everyone raced outside, and as the sun beamed down, our campers and volunteers became a rainbow of colours.
It was the first Family Camp for the majority of families attending and they enjoyed a welcome campfire on the first night where roasted marshmallows were a great icebreaker for the kids and parents alike. On the second day, we were able to alternate between archery and bike riding. It was really nice seeing the parents have a chance to encourage their kids to try new things and to also see them taking the chance to try as well.
The kids had a mega movie night and parents enjoyed a paint and snack session. The artworks that came out of that were awesome, and lots of laughs were had throughout the night trying to follow along with the instructions. On Sunday, the science workshop was a huge hit with the kids as their eyes lit up with every experiment. We finished off with a drumming workshop that was so engaging and had everyone up at some point leading the group, dancing and drumming along.
You can help bring fun, positivity and laughter back into the lives of more kids and families facing a cancer diagnosis.
