Broncos staff recently spent an afternoon building bikes for a special family who have been doing it tough.
In November 2019, Bailey was age champion at Cross Country one week and diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia the next. He was rushed into emergency surgery and started chemotherapy at Queensland Children’s hospital. Later, Bailey needed a bone marrow transfer which was given by his younger brother Logan. Bailey’s compromised immune system and his bone marrow transplant meant he and his mother were isolated for months at a time in hospital.
Camp Quality Families at Suncorp!
The Brisbane Broncos Charities Fund was established in 1990 as part of the Bronco’s commitment to the Queensland community. The Fund supports 12 charities each year and In 2021, Camp Quality was named as a Charity Partner.
Part of the charity partnership with the Broncos means Camp Quality has a designated charity game which happened on the 18th July. Camp Quality volunteers came together to help sell 50-50 raffle tickets at Suncorp Stadium. More than $14,000 worth of tickets were sold throughout the stadium where one lucky winner went home with over $7,000 in prize money. The other $7,000 went directly to Camp Quality, giving kids facing cancer the chance to be kids again. The Broncos generously also gave 28 seats where Camp Quality families filled the spots and cheered on.
