From a charity that struggled to fund its first camp and only ran one type of event, Camp Quality has come a long way! Take a trip down memory lane with this timeline of Camp Quality – and see how much we have grown.
CELEBRATING CAMP QUALITY'S 40TH BIRTHDAY
We are proud to have been improving the quality of life for kids facing cancer for 40 years.
It all started with our first camp held in 1983! Today our Recreation Programs continue to give kids and families a precious break from cancer, and we also do so much more! We provide families facing cancer with Child Life Therapy, our Cancer Education Program, Puppet Playdates, digital resources, a supportive community and professional counselling!
Camp Quality was founded on the belief that when a child is diagnosed with cancer, you can’t always change the quantity of their life, but you can change its quality. And we do, every single day! Because laughter is still the best medicine.

How Vera Entwistle founded Camp Quality
Camp Quality founder Vera Entwistle shares what inspired her to start Camp Quality and how it grew from one camp that was $300 in the red, to the organisation it is today, supporting 10,000 Australian kids impacted by cancer.
Sam's Story - Camp Quality Volunteer
Sam first heard about Camp Quality when she was 7 and her friend was attending our programs and services, she says, “My friend would always tell me about what a great time she had and come back with the best stories!”. 🏕️ Sam has been volunteering with Camp Quality for 13 years now.
Rosie-May's Story
Rosie-May lost her younger sister to ATRT brain cancer at the age of 10. Seeing her sister undergo chemotherapy was extremely challenging for her whole family. She attended a Family Fun Day with Camp Quality a few months after her sister passed away. Read on to hear about the impact Camp Quality has had in her life.
