On Sunday 8 October, Camp Quality’s Convoy Perth will weave through the streets of Perth to raise money for kids and their families facing a devastating diagnosis.
The inaugural event in Perth, is aiming to raise $80,000 – and every truck honk and every dollar raised will bring positivity, fun and laughter back into the lives of kids impacted by cancer.
Crowds of spectators will be there to cheer on the convoy of trucks, as it travels a 50km route. Starting and finishing at Perth Hockey Stadium, the convoy will be driving through Bentley, Welshpool, Morley, Osborne Park and Perth City.
Camp Quality’s Convoy Perth is a fun way for anyone who drives a truck to show their support for kids and families experiencing the challenging realities of a cancer diagnosis. Convoy Perth will support kids like Jayden.
“Jayden was diagnosed with blood cancer a few weeks before he turned seven. Treatment was traumatic for us all and all the restrictions of what he couldn’t do anymore made it even harder,” says mum Tegan.
“When we went on Family Camp, everyone just got it. It was a place we could feel comfortable that wasn’t the hospital or our house, knowing that help was there if we needed it. Jayden loves Camp Quality because he gets to meet kids like him and do so many fun activities.”
Camp Quality supports one in three kids diagnosed with cancer in Australia. Fundraising events like Convoy Perth can help us get closer to our goal of being able to support all children facing cancer.
Camp Quality CEO, Deborah Thomas says: “Convoy Perth is a unique and wonderful opportunity for the community to come together to support Camp Quality families. Participants are raising much-needed funds so we can help more kids and families in WA get through the trauma a cancer diagnosis and the ensuing treatment. We are there every step of the cancer journey to help build resilience and optimism – and have some fun and laughter along the way.”
