Camp Quality will celebrate 15 years of its iconic annual wesCarpade fundraiser this September, with the eight-day driving adventure setting off from Narrogin on Friday 12 September and finishing in York on Saturday 20 September.
More than 30 cars will set out from the picturesque town of Narrogin and stop at unique small towns along the way. The famed gold mining city of Kalgoorlie will host a lay-day mid-journey, before the rally continues onto the historic town of York.
Since its inception, wesCarpade has raised $3.5million for Camp Quality to support kids and families facing the trauma of a cancer diagnosis.
For families like Abby’s, Camp Quality programs shone light during dark times. Abby, now 8, was diagnosed with leukaemia in February 2022 when she was just five. Her mum, Cassie, recalls how cancer flipped their lives upside down, with endless rounds of chemotherapy and hospital stays becoming the new normal.
After registering with Camp Quality, Abby and her family attended their first Family Camp, which gave them the chance to be together again outside of hospital.
“Camp Quality has brought fun back into our lives,” she says. “It has been the best thing for our family.”
Camp Quality CEO, Deborah Thomas says, “Thank you to every single individual who has contributed to or been a part of wesCarpade over the last 15 years. This incredible milestone would not have been possible without the endless support from the Western Australia community. By raising money for Camp Quality, the wesCarpade community are making a real difference in WA, by giving more kids facing cancer the chance to reconnect as a family on our Family Getaways, Family Camps and Kids’ Camps. We are here to support the entire family through the most challenging times by building supportive communities that promote positivity and resilience – as well as create happy memories away from cancer.”
wesCarpade 2025 will see Camp Quality’s much-loved puppets join us on the road as we visit schools in rural towns in WA to deliver the Cancer Education Program. This program helps to reduce the likelihood of bullying and create inclusive school communities for kids impacted by cancer.
wesCarpade will stop in towns along the route, giving locals the chance to check out all the wacky themed cars and help raise funds for kids and families impacted by cancer. Learn more about wesCarpade.
