Camp Quality is thrilled to announce the return of Convoy Adelaide on Sunday 25 May with more than 110 trucks set to roll through the streets of Adelaide and Port Adelaide on a spectacular 36 kilometre journey. The convoy will start and finish at Victoria Park, raising vital funds to support kids facing cancer.
Communities are invited to share in the excitement by lining the convoy route (details below) and cheering on the incredible procession of Big Rigs as they drive by from 10am.
After the convoy returns, families are invited to enjoy a free Family Festival at Victoria Park, with entertainment, food, and activities suitable for all ages. The festival is proudly sponsored by Adelaide trucking company, Craig Arthur Transport. Now a platinum sponsor, the local company has supported Convoy Adelaide since its inception and was the lead truck in 2023.
Camp Quality CEO Deborah Thomas expressed her gratitude for the wonderful Adelaide community and their generosity, many of whom have supported the organisation for decades.
“With over 110 trucks already registered we’re overwhelmed by the philanthropic spirit of the Adelaide community. Money raised by these dedicated truckers helps us deliver much-needed support for kids and their families at every stage of their cancer journey including our well-known Kids’ and Family Camps, Family Getaways, Emergency Respite and Cancer Education Program delivered by the Camp Quality puppets,” says Deborah.
Convoy Adelaide will help Camp Quality support families like Tom’s. A courageous boy from Adelaide, Tom was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in 2024, just 17 days after his fourth birthday. Tom’s family shares a deep connection with Camp Quality, having benefited from our programs and support services during challenging times.
Morgan, Tom’s mum, recalls the profound impact Camp Quality’s Family Camp had on the family when they first attended one earlier this year at Marion Holiday Park in Bedford.
“We spent the weekend feeling so grateful and loved. Camp Quality had thought of literally everything including generous breakfast packs and little activities for the kids to do during the weekend or to bring home,” says Morgan.
“We made so many happy memories that will last a lifetime and will definitely be seen as a highlight during this challenging time in our lives.”
The family is looking forward to attending Convoy Adelaide. Tom loves trucks and is very excited to see the long convoy, as they motor by.
Among the many inspiring participants taking part in Convoy Adelaide is Daniel Quaini, cancer survivor and General Manager of Operations at Bonetti Transport and Hire.
Daniel has a deeply personal connection to the cause, having been diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma in 2023, the same week he and his wife discovered they were expecting their first child. After undergoing radiation, chemotherapy, and a stem-cell transplant, Daniel is now in remission and passionate about raising awareness and supporting families impacted by cancer.
“Since my diagnosis, I’ve been very passionate about doing what I can to help people in similar situations to me,” says Daniel.
Daniel has already raised an incredible $11,100 for Camp Quality. “I look forward to seeing all the kids and watching their excitement. Sharing this experience with the important people in my life will be really special,” Daniel adds.
Convoy Adelaide starts at 10am on Sunday, 25 May at Victoria Park, with the trucks travelling through Adelaide and Port Adelaide before returning to the fun and family activities around 11.30am.
