For the first time ever, senior leaders from some of Australia’s most-loved brands are trading boardrooms and suits for new heights and harnesses in Camp Quality’s inaugural Drop from the Top, a high-adrenaline executive challenge raising vital funds for kids facing cancer.
On Saturday 29th November, CEOs and senior executives will tackle the Giant Swing, a dramatic 18-metre drop at the Tops Conference Centre in Stanwell Tops, NSW. Each participant is aiming to raise funds to support Camp Quality programs that bring positivity, fun and laughter to children impacted by cancer.
Adding to the emotion of the day, kids facing cancer who take on this very same thrill ride at a Camp Quality family camp will be there to cheer the leaders on. This unique event invites leaders to step out of their comfort zones, and embrace a challenge designed to inspire courage, resilience, and fun.
Camp Quality CEO Deborah Thomas says: “Drop from the Top is about senior leaders giving back. We’re thrilled to see senior executives embrace the challenge to support children facing cancer. Their commitment will help provide unforgettable camp experiences that help to build resilience and bring joy to these amazing kids.”
Drop from the Top participants are ready for the challenge. Matthew Palmer, Chairman Arnott’s Foundation says: “Cancer affects us all in some way, and at The Arnott’s group, we’re all about creating moments that matter. If taking the plunge from 26 metres up helps bring laughter and joy to kids and families facing their toughest battles, then there’s no greater reason to do it.”
Another executive taking part, Troy Taylor, Vice President and General Manager. ANZ at LEGO says that the Drop from the Top is a challenge, but is nothing compared to what kids facing cancer go through every day. “I’m taking part because I believe in showing up for families facing life’s toughest moments and this is one powerful way to do it. I’m feeling a mix of nerves and excitement but proud to take the plunge for a cause that truly matters.”
Miles Wilson, Managing Director, O’Brien says he is taking the plunge because he believes supporting kids facing cancer is worth every moment of fear dangling from a harness. “I may not look graceful on the way down but I’m proud to stand up for a cause that lifts children and families when they need it most.”
