Western Australia’s Favourite Charity Car Rally Hits $4 million Milestone for Kids Facing Cancer

Camp Quality’s much-loved wesCarpade is returning for its 16th year with colourful cars and passionate fundraisers celebrating an incredible milestone: $4 million raised to bring positivity, fun and laughter back into the lives of kids and families facing cancer. 

From Friday 4 September to Saturday 12 September 2026, more than 30 cars will take part in an eight-day charity rally through Western Australia’s spectacular Southwest, departing Bunbury Saturday 5 September and travelling across forest tracks, river crossings, coastal towns, beautiful beaches and roads less travelled.

Each participating car commits to raising at least $5,000 for Camp Quality, helping fund programs and services that support children and families throughout the trauma of a cancer diagnosis.

Camp Quality CEO Deborah Thomas said the milestone reflected the extraordinary commitment of the wesCarpade community. “We are so grateful to everyone who has participated in, and raised funds for, this fun-fueled event.  wesCarpade is full of colour, character and good fun, but at its heart, it exists to support kids and families impacted by a cancer diagnosis,” says Deborah.

“To raise $4 million over the life of this event is a remarkable achievement, and the pride in helping WA families through their darkest days belongs to every participant, supporter, volunteer and regional community that has helped bring wesCarpade to life over the past 16 years.

“Every kilometre travelled and every dollar raised helps Camp Quality support children and families dealing with cancer every step of their journey.”
Troy and Tish Blechynden are participating in their fourth wesCarpade as Team Halloween. The pair will travel in a Halloween-themed 1964 Valiant AP5 sedan, complete with skeleton dog mascot Chubby and a skeleton named Em sitting proudly on the roof.

Tish said the event held special meaning for the team after their nephew was diagnosed with leukaemia as a toddler. “We have seen first-hand how difficult childhood cancer can be for both the child and their family, and we wanted to share an experience that allowed us to give back,” Tish said.

“Being part of wesCarpade has allowed us to meet great, like-minded people, see some incredible parts of Western Australia and know the money raised that directly helps these families.”

Team Halloween has been supported by local people, businesses and major sponsors, including the team at Forkwest, who have helped prepare the car for the road.

“It is an experience like no other. You visit different communities, travel across the state and know you are helping put smiles on the faces of families going through an incredibly challenging time.”

Camp Quality is encouraging Western Australians to donate to participating teams and cheer on the colourful convoy as it travels through the Southwest.
